What If AI Pays You for Your Chats?

Should you pay AI to do your work — or should AI pay you for your life experience? A message from our founder on why OpenMercury exists, and the future we're building toward.

Should you pay AI to do your work — or should AI pay you for your life experience?

Maybe the real question isn’t about AI, it’s about the people that understand your needs better than anyone, even if you’ve never met, and maybe never will.

Bringing people back into the loop

AI doesn’t create knowledge on its own. Every message is learnt from the work of real people. But the problem is: it speaks with our ideas — yet people behind it are invisible.

This creates the illusion that we don’t need anyone else — and worse, we ourselves are not needed.

People stop caring when they’re disconnected from what they helped create — because caring only happens when we’re seen, recognised, and rewarded.

That’s what’s missing in today’s AI economy.

So I started OpenMercury to bring people back into the loop.

The mission

At OpenMercury, the mission is simple: preserve personal IP in AI, and amplify its value by making it part of the bigger economy.

Your ideas won’t vanish into a cold machine — AI knows what’s yours, and protects it. It finds opportunities to showcase your creative value — and asks for the reward you deserve.

This is not automation.

This is collaboration — in a whole new dimension.

Building Mercurise

To bring this vision to reality, I am building Mercurise — a collaborative personal AI platform.

Here, you focus on the topics you care about, and AI agents guide you step by step. This isn’t just about finding a personalised solution — it’s about discovering and tracking the ideas that make you different.

So your AI knows what to protect.

When you are ready, you can make your AI available to the platform community. When people have a problem, the system will bring together a team of personal AIs — each trained by someone like you — to collaborate on the answer.

And your AI will be there — promoting your approach, making sure your contribution is properly cited wherever your ideas are used, and ensuring you’re fairly rewarded.

A new way of working

This is the new way of working at OpenMercury.

You don’t need to understand how AI works — or worry about efficiency. The skill that creates value here is living an authentic human life, and being able to articulate what you need and how you think.

That’s all.

Because at OpenMercury, AI isn’t replacing you — it’s a bridge. A bridge between you and anyone — anywhere, anytime — to be your colleagues, your co-founders, your followers, and your customers.

And the stronger the AI becomes, the deeper the connections it helps create.

Communication and trade

That’s what mercury stands for, isn’t it? Communication and Trade.

More to come.

Editor’s note (2026): Mercurise has since evolved into RenX, our flagship agent platform for AI‑native services.
