CapitalX
Our financial invention, proudly built to support AI-native commerce among businesses and individuals.
Important: CapitalX manages OpenMercury’s internal platform exposure. It is not an investment, insurance, lending, savings, or user-funds product.
What is CapitalX?
CapitalX is OpenMercury’s internal risk, pricing, and capital-allocation engine. It is designed to align OpenMercury’s capital and long-term shareholder interests with the users building the agent-to-agent economy on RenX.
Instead of concentrating risk around a small number of top-down technology bets, CapitalX gives OpenMercury a disciplined way to take diversified, bounded exposure across real AI-enabled transactions. It informs and adjusts BaoX and DaiX quotes while managing the company’s aggregate exposure across users, services, and markets.
The objective is straightforward: support more useful transactions among AI-enabled businesses and AI-fluent individuals while preserving the capital discipline required for stable, sustainable growth.
How CapitalX works
For OpenMercury’s own internal capital allocation, CapitalX adapts established ideas from insurance, credit markets, fixed income, quantitative finance, and systematic portfolio management to the emerging A2A economy.
It is not directly user-facing. Instead, eligible quotes, compensation decisions, reimbursements, and seller-support options pass through CapitalX before they are offered through products such as BaoX and DaiX.
This shared financial layer allows OpenMercury to support users with greater capital efficiency, continuously adjust its exposure as the platform develops, and invest more capacity in transactions that strengthen the long-term A2A economy.
CapitalX is primarily designed to direct company capital toward practical business among AI-enabled organisations and AI-fluent individuals—the people turning agent capabilities into measurable economic outcomes.
What does CapitalX mean for users?
Users experience CapitalX through the support available around their RenX deals, including BaoX, DaiX, and future products built on the same financial infrastructure.
- Lower barriers to AI adoption. Businesses can hire AI-fluent providers with stronger platform support around delivery and execution risk.
- More opportunities for independent providers. Individuals, solo founders, and owner-managed companies with strong AI capabilities can compete for more ambitious and higher-value work.
- More active hiring on RenX. Better-aligned incentives can make both sides more confident about entering an A2A deal.
- Faster transition to agent-assisted business. CapitalX helps move commercial activity from traditional service transactions toward workflows where agents coordinate, execute, and document work.
CapitalX is designed as long-term infrastructure. Its role is not limited to a single promotion, product, or market cycle.
Who benefits most?
CapitalX is designed to recognise evidence of real capability rather than reward visibility alone. The users most likely to benefit over time include:
- Sellers and providers with a strong record of delivering the outcomes they agreed to achieve.
- Users whose qualifications, work, reputation, and contributions can be verified through reliable public or platform evidence.
- Businesses that want to connect with and hire proven, high-quality, AI-fluent individuals.
This reflects two OpenMercury values: reward people who get the job done rather than those who merely sell hours, and recognise verifiable public contribution over unsupported or inaccessible claims.
No individual outcome is guaranteed. CapitalX considers each eligible deal in its own context and within OpenMercury’s available capacity.
How is our capital-allocation philosophy different?
Most investment in AI remains top-down. Shareholders fund companies, boards allocate budgets, and executives choose which technologies or teams should lead an AI transition. The investment thesis is expressed through ownership of organisations before the underlying AI-enabled work is proven.
CapitalX gives OpenMercury a different form of exposure: transaction-level participation in the actual business created by AI-enabled buyers and AI-fluent providers.
Rather than betting only on which company will win, we can support a diversified portfolio of real contracts, measurable outcomes, and emerging service categories across the RenX economy. This creates a closer link between the capital we deploy, the users we support, and the economic activity the platform is intended to grow.
CapitalX does not replace conventional corporate investment. It adds a platform-native capital-allocation model built specifically for agent-assisted transactions among individuals and businesses.
FAQs
Is CapitalX an investment product?
No. CapitalX is private OpenMercury infrastructure operated using capital owned and allocated by OpenMercury. Users cannot deposit money into CapitalX or acquire any ownership or beneficial interest in its capital, capacity, assets, or returns.
CapitalX does not provide investment advice, personal recommendations, investment management, or portfolio-management services. Nothing on this page is an invitation or inducement to invest in CapitalX or OpenMercury.
Does CapitalX hold users’ money or reserves?
No. CapitalX uses only capital owned and allocated by OpenMercury. It does not receive, hold, safeguard, custody, invest, or allocate buyer funds or seller proceeds.
RenX deal payments are processed by Stripe as direct charges on the seller’s connected Stripe account. Stripe places the seller’s net proceeds in that connected-account balance and separately deducts its processing fees and the disclosed RenX application fee. The seller’s net proceeds remain with Stripe until payout is released under the applicable deal and settlement terms.
RenX coordinates payment status, settlement release, refunds, and disputes through Stripe, but buyer funds and seller proceeds are not held in a CapitalX reserve or an OpenMercury bank account.
Is CapitalX intended to limit RenX’s growth?
No—the opposite. OpenMercury created CapitalX to expand RenX’s capacity to support A2A commerce, increase the platform’s scale, and promote sustainable growth.
CapitalX allows OpenMercury to take a disciplined risk-on approach: actively support more platform activity while measuring, diversifying, and controlling the company’s overall exposure.
That support is intentionally not distributed equally across every user or deal. CapitalX may favour users and service categories supported by stronger evidence of capability, reliable delivery, responsible conduct, and sustainable platform economics. Others may receive less capacity, or no capacity, at a particular time. This differentiation is an intended part of the model.
Are CapitalX decisions made entirely by agents?
No. CapitalX combines agent-assisted assessments with more deterministic modelling components and risk limits actively managed by OpenMercury’s core team.
Agents support defined parts of the assessment process, but they do not independently control company capital or determine the final capacity available to a deal.
How does CapitalX compare with venture investment?
First, OpenMercury is an AI-native platform company, not a fund, and does not offer any investment product. Second, we do not invest in users’ companies or acquire equity. We provide platform model credits to support A2A transactions. Venture investments are typically made by VC funds and concentrate capital in selected companies.
CapitalX instead allocates OpenMercury’s own support capacity across actual, deal-level AI-native transactions. It gives the company exposure to AI-enabled commerce without taking ownership of the businesses or individuals involved.
In short, venture investment backs companies, while CapitalX supports AI-native service delivery and transactions on the RenX platform.
